IOWA PUBLIC
Mike Mancl - Iowa - November 10, 2022

After scouting out several pieces of public ground in Iowa during the off season, Mike's plan was to jump around from parcel to parcel throughout November with hopes of catching up to a good buck. On the morning of November 10th, Mike headed to a small piece that had a lot of good sign. Him and Jim arrived early and were settled into the tree well before daylight. This piece of ground wasn't very big at all, and the guys could actually see the road from their stand. Just before daylight, another vehicle stopped on the road near Mike's truck and began honking the horn. Not sure if the person was upset that they were late to the party or what their intentions were. A short while later, another vehicle parked right next to Mike's truck and came crashing into the woods to hunt not far away. By this time, Mike had lost hope in the sit. Just minutes later, he looked up and to his surprise, this buck came crashing down the hill right towards them. Mike put the arrow where it needed to go and his tag was punched on Iowa public on a less than ideal morning.
