CHUMBAWAMBA
Ross Weeks - Iowa - November 27th, 2023
By: Brennen Nading (@nadingbr)
The story of "Chumbawamba" started back in early July when the interns filmed this incredible buck inside of bow range while doing a hang and scout on some public ground. Little did they know, this was the start of a roller coaster ride that wouldn't come to an end until late November. They grinded throughout the month of October and November, with many sits dedicated to the area where "Chumbawamba" roamed. On the afternoon of November 27th, with time ticking before the gun seasons arrived, Ross was up to bat and they headed in for the afternoon sit. With a dusting of snow on the ground, they deployed a buck decoy in the field and settled in for the evening. Several deer began moving, including a handful of younger bucks. While a couple young bucks investigated the decoy, Ross caught movement coming off the ridge, and it wasn't long before the giant buck stepped into the field. He read the script perfectly and crossed the field to come and challenge the intruder buck. Ross stopped him at 35 yards and made a perfect shot! We are excited to bring you this story in its entirety in a full length Season 11 episode.
