QUICK TRIP

Scott joined us in North Dakota for the first time last season.  Although he had some good encounters, it just wasn't in the cards for him to get a crack at a good buck.  Eager to get back and settle the score, he made the trip back to North Dakota for the 2024 season opener.  Again, some good hunts and a few good encounters but no shot opportunity.  With the tag eating a hole in his pocket, we encouraged him to give it another go in the late season.  He booked his flight and was ready to get back to the northern plains to see if the 3rd time was a charm.  With only a few nights to hunt, and unfavorable late season hunting conditions, we crawled into the blind and hoped for the best.  On the second night of the hunt, we watched this buck pushing does around in front of us a few hundred yards away.  With light fading, he covered some ground and headed straight for us.  Scott made a perfect shot on the buck and we watched him topple over less than 100 yards from us.  This is Scott's first North Dakota buck, and his first out-of-state buck for that matter.  His second buck of the season, and one happy hunter heading home to Michigan for the holidays!
