BUCK NEST

Since tagging out in North Dakota back in early September, Mike has put all of his focus on hunting at home in Iowa.  With 2 archery buck tags in his pocket, he has been back and forth between hunting his urban unit, and taking shots on his permission farms.  With inconsistent target bucks on his permission farms, Mike set out to see what he could find on some public ground.  A promising scouting trip by boat had Mike excited about a spot he began calling the "Buck Nest".  On November 15th, Mike and our intern Hayden loaded up the boat and headed into the hidden gem that was the "Buck Nest". Just before 12 noon, the hunt escalated quickly when Mike sucked this buck straight to the tree with a couple of grunts!  Another great public land buck and this one got to ride back to the truck via boat!
